About Gatherings
Gretchen Wilson, the creator of Little Souls Dolls, also makes other doll designs that she calls "Gatherings". They are creative expressions mostly in the form of folk art, but may take any form that inspires her. According to Gretchen, "Gatherings" were originally inspired by the strength of our ancestors as they passed through Ellis Island....but have evolved to relay the strength, courage and sometimes humor that we all need to do this adventure we call life". Some of the characters are left faceless to let us imagine what they might look like.
The creations shown in the section are one-of-a-kind designs handmade by Gretchen. Each item is a unique artistic expression created from a wide variety of materials that Gretchen has collected as she express a theme or thought through these exceptional works of art. All of the items are signed by Gretchen and dated. With her creative streak, the possibilities for different curiosities are endless and we can't wait to see what's next!
